12/15/25 New Expanded Encounters!
Happy Update Day... again! I'm glad to see that you all left your stockings out because I couldn't be more delighted to share the next short story as part of our annual holiday release wave. "The Long, Difficult Path," by our very own Luke Van Horn, offers excerpts from the Journal of Roni von Wasaki, an obscure Jedi Knight from the pages of Challenge #66 (Nov-92), who spent roughly 20,000 years imprisoned in carbonite before being revived in the modern era. After enduring millennia of loneliness, loss, and madness, Roni is left a man outside of time, forced to build a life for himself in an era in which everything he once knew is no longer remembered even in hoary myths and legends. But with the release of Arhul Hextrophon's Supernatural Encounters, Roni is forced to confront his past--for it may hold the key to the future. The accompanying artwork to this story was made by Jonathan CrabArtist, a phenomenally talented artist who needs no introduction here. If you haven't already, please support his amazing work. You can find a link to this exciting new story here.
12/1/25 Update Day!!
You'll be hearing those words a lot, as there will be a rolling wave of releases and previews throughout December extending into January, a holiday blitz to rival last year's previews for the GCS, Kevin's Firstborn Guide, and the first installment of Wish 13! First up, we're proud to announce the new Expanded Encounters short story, the first in a three-part series featuring a corrupted in-universe copy of SE falling into the wrong hands and leaving a bloody trail in its wake. It is written by our very own Stefan Pfister! People can expect parts 2 and 3 in early 2026. Hex Factor: The Fourth Precipice After a dangerous manuscript from Hex's private collection is stolen, the trail of dead bodies that follows it takes on even greater urgency after fate delivers the book into the hands of a small band of kids. Will the curse that haunts the tome take them or can evil be thwarted by an unlikely circle of friends? Download your free copy here! 11/09/25 Lore Explore In this off-the-cuff video, the gang takes a blind first look through Corey Carter's supplementary Guide to the Celestial Spheres: the "Otherspace of Illathurion" section, the newest companion piece to Star Wars: Supernatural Encounters! This fantastic, textbook-style guide provides detailed accounts of strange places and things one might encounter in the strangest dimension in Star Wars, the surreal and terrifying Illathurion! What connections can we draw from this lore? How many references, crossovers, and easter-eggs can we spot? You know it's off the deep end when we start talking about Oompa-Loompas! You can watch Supernatural Encounters: Exploring the Weird Lore of Otherspace here. 11/1/25 Happy Halloween!
Set ten millennia after the conquests of Xim the Despot (15,116 BBY), the story features one of his stratified former holdings divided between rich and poor, with the latter risking everything in high-stakes illegal races. Yet a visitor from another world— or, perhaps, another galaxy—throws everything into chaos... You can access the story here:
9/22/25 Site and SE News Playing catch-up after a bit of time (helping out a friend). On the site news, I've added the Clone Wars Cine-manga photocomic adaptation to S1 and the first episode of S2 of The Clone Wars. Thank you to Ben Wilder for the info and reminder! On SE news, we have an exciting new lore video on the Ewoks from SE and beyond called The Untold Lore of Endor and Ewoks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLyeI7aL41s&t=9s We also have a new music video, the first SE music video, by Lord Vader: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEjU17Xxe0I 9/9/25 Digital & Hand-Drawn Illustrations
With the release of Jonathan Smith's seventh video inspired by the Firstborn races of Supernatural Encounters and Guillaume Ducos' continued illustrations, and others on the way, I knew it was time to have a page dedicated to digital and hand-drawn art. Here it is! Meanwhile, fun AI art inspired by SE continues to come in! Whether you're a fan or an artist yourself, join us over on the Discord server. Drop me a line! 8/27/25 SE Art... in Progress! Are you interested in the process of creating art? Maybe you're a fan or a budding digital artist? Check out Guillaume Ducos' art page on Youtube, where he is currently showing how he created one of the forthcoming covers for Supernatural Encounters--Tilotny Meets the King in Yellow! Check it out here! The EU Files: Special thanks to Mary who pointed out that many of the online and Hyperspace files are now on Archive.org, prompting me to fix several broken links and add new links for you guys to more easily be able to get your hands on these stories. 8/11/25 More Lost Droids Found! We are happy to announce the release of both the Droids Plaza Joven "die-cut" books (four in total) and the Droids Pop-up books (by Editorial Roma, four in total), all in English for the first time! Be sure to check out the Archives for more details and your downloadable links! These are exclusive EU stories that fit into continuity of the Droids and Ewoks animated series. I haven't yet put them on the timeline, but I will soon enough. 7/26/25 A Message from LegendsCon So this has been a long time coming. The owner of Legends Consortium, who served as my lead editor on SE, has had to bring litigation against parties whose actions are alleged to have led to the cancellation of LegendsCon II. I encourage anyone interested to keep up-to-date with public statements and follow the case as it develops. It goes without saying that I and many others have stood behind Legends Consortium and continue to during this difficult process. The official statement can be read here: https://www.legendsconofficial.com/. 7/26/25 Updated Spacebeamsonar SE Reviews! What a wonderful review and group of people; their joy and wholesome spirit are infectious!

7/20/25 SE-Inspired AI Art!
Note: Our policy towards AI art is that it's welcome as fan art, which means that it isn't taking anything away from human artists. Supernatural Encounters itself utilizes strictly human art, but I encourage fans to use any tools, including AI, to create animation, illustrations, and music for our enjoyment (and which would otherwise not exist). I understand that it's a controversial issue and the reasons why and fully respect differing opinions on the subject.
7/14/25 Coming soon! I moved Allegiance to the 7-12 month ABY section, and added the unpublished/Lostworlds story, "The Krylon Snare" to right before it, where it was intended to go. That story will be made available sometime later in the year in digital and physical form. 7/2/25 New SE Guide! Calling all Star Warriors and Starhoppers! Back during work on the 3rd edition of Supernatural Encounters, my lead editor Corey was toiling away on “The Infinity Realm of Apeiron” and providing assistance to me and the phenomenally talented David Canavese who designed the new maps for Illathurion and the Nihil Retreat. Of the 1st edition maps created by lead editor Edward Dodds, the Illathurion/Otherspace map (aka. the Wekufe map) came by way of Hathkalid Sud; and while Sud's cartographic knowledge was understandably limited, it managed to get Hex to his destination and back. As to the Nihil Retreat map, that came by way of Succate of Carrivar (see The Unknown Regions sourcebook) an explorer who, in 80 BBY, spent time with the Sorcerers of Rhand and obtained a map from them that appears to have been purposely designed to lure travelers into traps and snares. Of the 3rd edition maps, the Illathurion map was created by Asmoth-Yor from information transmitted to her from Archon-Ood over long years of investigation into the history of cartography of Otherspace. This map was then passed along to Q9. The Nihil Retreat map was derived from the holocron of Lord Cronal, aka Shadowspawn, aka Blackhole, who kept a secret and detailed atlas after his pilgrimage to the Temple of Darkness on Rhand. While neither of us had time to do a full write-up before the deadline, Corey took my notes and has been diligently working ever since to give us our latest expansion to the Guide to the Celestial Spheres: The Otherspace of Illathurion! Eagle-eyed readers of The Guide to the Celestial Spheres may have seen this in-universe work teased all the way back in January, offering a hint at the behind-the-scenes work that goes into coordinating, connecting, and foreshadowing our ever-growing list of ESE projects. You can find and download The Otherspace of Illathurion here along with other amazing guides and stories right here! 6/21/25 New Expanded Supernatural Encounters! Hey everyone, I couldn't be more delighted to release the latest short story approved under the ESE banner: Hunters of Angkor, written by the phenomenally talented Atom Mudman Bezecny. Set in 2 BBY, Hunters of Angkor follows an ambitious Mandalorian bounty hunter in pursuit of a legendary darksider. But when her target attempts to flee not only through space but time as well, accessing the fabled World Between Worlds, she has no choice but to pursue her prey into the age of myth and legend. Finding herself in the final years of the War of Temporal Planes (2678 NE), the young hunter is forced to question everything: Who is her target really? Has she stumbled on to something even worse? And does she have any hope of ever returning home? I hope that you all enjoy this riveting story as much as I did. You can access it on the Expanded Encounters page or by following the link here. Site News: In related
news, I've added all the current EE stories to the complete saga page under the
From a new channel, this is a lovely discussion and powerpoint presentation of Supernatural Encounters by three smart and sweet individuals. Check it out, and be sure to like and subscribe if you want to see more like it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qqs2hRyEqLk&t=531s And while you're at it, don't miss Crabartist Productions breakdowns of the Firstborn Races. His latest in the series are the Kwa/Kwoth. These are insightful and told during the process in which he illustrates them--which is really cool if you're interested in the visual arts as well as a lore breakdown. So, like and subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdMpWYgGFNA&t=2s It's exciting to see these new and small channels emerging that are purely fan-driven, free of corporate influence, but also free of the toxicity and vitriol that's poisoned so many fan spaces. These two channels remind us of what the fan community really is about. And speaking of that, for those who'd like to join our own fan community on Discord, and how know how to get along with others, drop me a line.
A bit surreal and something I could not have predicted in a thousand years: while talking to Mark Hamill, Stephen Colbert name-dropped a character I co-created! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xO_83-4xrg Short history: Typhojem was the name I gave to a malevolent deity from Alan Dean Foster's book Splinter of the Mind's Eye (the deity's idol was known to the locals as Pomojema). Foster had subsequently told me that it was intended to be Cthulhu, the entity from the stories of H.P. Lovecraft and others. The factoid that Colbert tells Hamill is from Book of Sith, by Dan Wallance, which stated that Ajunta Pall, one of the early Dark Lords of the Sith (though not the earliest, as Colbert stated), was held to be a manifestation of Typhojem. Typhojem was brought to life as a character in my book Supernatural Encounters, and, for the most part I kept continuity with what Lovecraft and others established while also developing an original story in which he and his cohorts terrorized the galaxy. All in all, a very cool nod! 5/31/25 SE News For those of you who took part in the extended April pre-sale of the Deluxe Supernatural Encounters, books are in! I'll start shipping them out this coming week, probably Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll email each of you individually with tracking numbers. For those of you just learning about this now, although there will be no additional Deluxe editions (unless there's another LegendsCon), there will be standard editions in the summer, as I'll begin working on them in a few weeks. Stay tuned for the drop of the English translations of four Spanish Droids books from Plaza Joven and four Droids books by Editorial Gespa. Once these translations are uploaded here, I'll return to work on finishing edits for the first Hungarian Han Solo book. 5/29/25 Site News Shout-out to Bryan Reed for catching and pointing out a typo in the Episode I Journal: Queen Amidala listing. It's you guys that have made this site the best it can be! Also work continues apace on the Timeline of the Old Urthha System. There's a lot of research involved and lot of stories for those interested in the history of this region, but I think it'll be worth it when it's all said and done. 5/17-18/25 Site News Finishing up and correcting what I started yesterday, including fixes to the Cosmic Wars era and more additions. There is more I could add, but for now this should suffice. 5/16/25 Site News Pursuant to the Lucasverse and other crossovers that have appeared in the EU and SE, I've begun adding some Lucasarts games and a few other things to the Complete Saga timeline. More to come. 5/15/25 Site News Thanks again to chaosDesigner for helping make the EU Reading list a bit more accurate and complete! I've also added some of the Dark Crystal EU stories to the timeline. I know some of you may not care for the larger Lucasverse or any of the crossovers that appear in the EU or SE; if that's the case, stick to the individual era pages. And speaking of controversial areas, to the Complete Saga timeline, I also added titles for the last three episodes of Andor. 5/10/25 Site News Given its appearance in Supernatural Encounters, The Dark Crystal and some of its prequels have been added to the Complete Saga and EU Reading list. Consider these dates fluid as there is no official chronology and much of this is guesswork. (Note: while other Dark Crystal stories have been published, they haven't been put on the timeline as of yet, but they should be considered part of the larger story). Thanks to chaosDesigner for the prompt! 5/9/25 The Sequel to Wish 13!!
Site News: I've added most of S2 of Andor to the Complete Timeline. I know some people love this and some don't, but we're at three episodes to the end of this series and, thus far, both Andor and Rogue One can fit into both universes (Skyriver and Hyperion... aka. the EU and DU) just fine. As to the Rogue One: Cassian Andor and K-2SO comic book one-shot, that would now either represent a cover story or go into Apeiron... aka. the Infinities realm). 5/8/25 Sold Out! While deluxe editions of Supernatural Encounters have sold out, don't despair! Standard editions will be made available some time in the early summer, and while not as fancy as these, they will still be excellent in quality and content! Stay tuned for announcements in the month ahead. Also stay tuned for the forthcoming translations of the Plaza Joven Droids books and more! May the Sith!
Exciting news: After many long years of searching, the four Plaza Joven Ewoks books are now available in English here for your digital download! Special thanks to Arthur Lowery for procuring these and David Beck for formatting them! Stay tuned for the Plaza Joven Droids, the sequel to Wish 13, and more!
May the 4th Be With You! 4/26/26 Reading the Translated Ewoks Quinlan Vos discusses and reads the English translations we made of the Plaza Joven Ewoks books which is coming here soon! Check out the discussion and reading here. 4/24/25 Supernatural Games! Like word searches? Me too! Play the Supernatural Encounters Word Search, created by Maxine Morrell, right here! 4/22/25 Deluxe Edition Pre-Sale Extended! Due to high demand, pre-sales for the SE Deluxe limited edition have been extended until 4/27. If you haven't yet pre-ordered, see details here. 4/21/25 SE Web Version 3rd Edition The complete 3rd edition version of Supernatural Encounters (with the new maps) is now available for download here. Standard edition physical copies will be available in a few months or so. I've updated the cover gallery to include dates and descriptions, and updated the recommend reading list just for fun. 4/15/25 The Complete Planet Hoppers Collection is now available for download in The Archives. This was the continuity-stitching series that ran on the Wizards of the Coast website from 2003-2004, and 2008, and includes an unpublished (unfinished) short. An audio interview with the main writer for the series, Corey Herndon, can be found on Spotify here. Special thanks to Brennan (Quinlan Vos) for putting this all together! Reminder: The pre-sale for the deluxe limited 3rd edition of Supernatural Encounters closes on 4/20. 4/13/25 Deluxe Redux
The pre-sale is now closed. Please note that a standard edition is in the works for June with details TBD. Additional books from the tier sets will not be available at that time.

SE News: Just a quick update, as it's still a busy time over here after hosting all of those fantastic people you see in the pictures above--but I wanted to announce that 3rd ed, deluxe limited edition Supernatural Encounters (SE) books are here and will be ready to go out next week! If you missed this one, stay tuned in April for the standard editions, which will be similar in content, but won't include the signed Nick Joseph plate, the illustrated endpapers, the bookmark, the leatherette covers, etc. I'll also endeavor to put a PDF up on the site that includes the final 3rd ed. text and maps. In the meantime, be sure to download the latest Expanded Supernatural Encounters (ESE) stories, the excellent A Gleam of Silver in the Dark, by Luke Van Horn, and the fantastic bonus story, Aria's Storm, by Kelcy Van Horn!
AC Bagel's newest animated audiobook adaptation of Supernatural Encounters has dropped, and it's even more beautiful than the prior episodes. In the first half of Chapter 24, prepare to delve into one of the most expansive and conceptually rich chapters yet, as we witness the Architects’ bold attempts to reshape reality itself. This chapter explores the creation of the Earthworlds, crafted to lure humanity and serve as Tilotny’s grand stage for her ultimate plan of domination and supposed salvation. Check it out here! 2/14/25 Site Update After considerable consideration, The Force Unleashed has been moved back into Infinities where I had placed it years earlier back in 2014 (I've gone back and forth with this a few times). Given the one-time popularity of this game, this may seem needlessly controversial, but there's just no reconciling two crucial plot aspects of the story (in the game and novel) with A New Hope, the Star Wars Radio Drama, and the Empire #5-6: Princess... Warrior.
The climax of TFU has Bail Organa caught by Palpatine and Vader onboard the
Death Star while it's under construction. Bail Organa flees and becomes a wanted
terrorist. This flies in the face of his daughter being a prominent member of
the Senate and creates a contradiction with her secret role in the Rebellion.
Had her father been a known terrorist and Rebel, and given all the watchful eyes
that would have been upon her, neither Bail nor the Alliance would have given
her the crucial mission of retrieving the Death Star plans from the Rebels who
captured it. These are irreconcilable contradictions (and not the only ones in this story) created by the designers of The Force Unleashed who not only failed to take into account the continuity of the EU but of the films themselves.
2/2/25 Five Days Left! Pre-sales for the Deluxe, Limited 3rd Edition of Supernatural Encounters is closing in five days! But for those on a budget, we've got you covered! Standard editions will be made available some time in April. Stay tuned for updates or drop me an email to join our Discord server. Supernatural Music! If you're a fan of the heavy metal genre like I am, you'll be thrilled to know that Lord Vader has made several rocking compositions based on Supernatural Encounters and the EU! You can hear them all here! 1/23/25 Update Day!
For all of you Star Warriors who’ve been on this journey with us for years and all of you Starhoppers who are new to it, I’m thrilled to announce the pre-sale of the third (and final) edition of Supernatural Encounters, which will be available in a very limited edition deluxe hardcover two-volume set for pickup at LegendsCon II on March 15-16, 2025, at the University of Arlington in Texas. And for Discord members and fans of the site unable to attend, you’re not left out--this offer is extended to you as well: While I’d love to give you all a free copy, the costs of production and shipping are very high, and this crowdfunding effort will allow me to produce additional copies for fans at LCII and beyond. To that end, there are three tiers that you can choose from, with the second and third including exclusive LCII printings of books from some of our fellow authors! Note, these are all being printed in small, limited quantities and offered on a first-come, first served basis (which means that payment will be required upon order). No refunds! Check out the new covers and all the details at the link above. Be sure to read the fine print so that there’s no confusion, but don’t hesitate to reach out to me privately here if you have any questions or concerns.
In our continuing Expanded Supernatural Encounters series, we have the second of several forthcoming Alien Guides ready for you to download!
Supernatural Encounters: Guide to the Celestial Spheres, by Corey Carter and illustrated by AC Bagel can be downloaded here!
As per the author: "In November of last year, I found myself in a bit of a bind.
I was in a creative mood, absolutely champing at the bit to write something...
but after a long day at work, my brain was fried and I didn't have it in me to
tackle anything too difficult. So I challenged myself to whip up something
(hopefully) interesting with the lore I know like the back of my hand. Then i
shared it with the team. We all agreed that the concept had legs and so I've
been burning the candle at both ends to put together a preview for you all.
In our continuing Expanded Supernatural Encounters series, we have the first of several forthcoming Alien Guides ready for you to download!
Supernatural Encounters: Guide to the Firstborn Races, written by Kevin Beentjes and illustrated by Kevin Beentjes (and others) can be downloaded here! As per the author: "I'm really excited to share with you the Supernatural Encounters: Guide to the Firstborn Races today! It is a self-contained guide covering all the 66 named Precursors we encounter in SE, but also serves a preview to the still very much in progress eventual guide that covers all the 1500+ species in SE. You'll find some things in this guide that foreshadow publications yet to come, either from the 3rd edition or other works in the Expanded Encounters. It was a great pleasure to work with others on this project, with Joe and Corey Carter helping me track down obscure sources, as well as with AC Bagel in our little colab to bring some of the unseen species to life." Check it our for free today! 1/8/25 Expanded Supernatural Encounters!
UPDATE DAY! Calling all Star Warriors and Starhoppers! I'm excited to announce Wish 13: Glimpses of Oblivion, an Expanded Supernatural Encounters installment written by our very own Samantha H.G.!! Taking place in 46 ABY, Wish 13: Glimpses of Oblivion is illustrated by Katherine Graci, and is an incredible ride! You can find it here. Sam managed to craft a skillful, scary, and wild space adventure with great characters that I absolutely adored, and which feels like the classic Weird Tales of old! As with Mark Elam's excellent Cthon and Devilworlds, and a few others that are yet being worked on that I've glimpsed, I consider these stories part of the SE family, and therefore part of my*canon. I hope that once you read it, it'll be part of yours as well! I use that term deliberately because the Cosmic Wars era remains rich with storytelling potential, and many of you have taken up the mantle in expanding it further. For this reason, I've been working with Corey Carter to support fanmade and fan-led projects directly connected to Supernatural Encounters. Corey will chime in later to introduce and explain what we've dubbed Expanded Supernatural Encounters. I should also note that Wish 13 is but the first in a wave of announcements and previews that will be released throughout January, with further reveals prepared for LegendsCon II. 1/1/25 Party Like It's Cold Danda Sine!
