11/28/24 Special Edition of the animated Supernatural Encounters!

This new and improved extended version definitely enhances what came before. Using the new v3 text, I have updated and enhanced many aspects of the previous audiobook experience, ensuring these beloved chapters are presented with the cinematic quality they deserve.

Chapter 20 has received an overhaul to match the quality of the later chapters. This includes an upgraded aspect ratio, resolution, and extensive color enhancement. Approximately 15 brand-new VFX shots have been added to enhance the cinematic quality, and the visual consistency of the four Osiarch has been revised to match later chapters.

Chapter 21 now features updated color profiles, additional Firstborn beings from the v3 Edition, and ~10 new VFX shots of the Osiarch. Transitions have also been updated for a smoother narrative flow.

Chapter 22 includes minor bug fixes, transition improvements, and the new v3 text, adding richer details to the narrative and enhancing the depiction of the celestial offspring's unique paths.

All 3 chapters will be included in this long-form video, so whether you're revisiting these chapters or experiencing them for the first time, I hope that these upgrades enhance your journey through Star Wars: Supernatural Encounters.

The updated Chapters 20-22 v3 will be live at 7:30 PM EST tomorrow, right after Thanksgiving dinner—because what better way to celebrate the holiday than by diving back into a galaxy far, far away? Grab your leftovers, settle in, and join!

10/10/24 Site Update

A few changes to the Era of Rebellion. I moved the Pizzazz strips to after issue #7 of the Marvel series, which was also better delineated, when Luke and Leia bid farewell to Han, but before #8 where Luke has left with the droids to scout a Rebel base. I also got rid of Lost Stars and all of the modern Marvel comics, the inclusion of which hadn't been well-received. And it makes sense that they take place in the DU (aka. Hyperion). I added the Star Wars #1-20 (Dark Horse, 2013) Brian Wood series to Infinities (aka. Apeiron).

Also, in the West End Games section, the two Wild Space Magazine issues, by Womp Rat Press, are now up for download, as are the complete Adventurer's Journals that Brian Bird created, which are excellent, all of which are referenced in Supernatural Encounters.

9/27/24 Returning Guest to LegendsCon II!

The great Corinna Bechko, author of one of my favorite Star Wars series, Legacy Vol. II, which I think is some of the best space opera that we'd seen in Star Wars since Archie Goodwin. Plus, she's a wonderful person in her own right! Fans of Planet of the Apes fans can also rejoice, as she did several well-received arcs for Boom! Studios, including Betrayal of the Planet of the Apes, Exile on the Planet of the Apes, and Planet of the Apes: Cataclysm.

9/4/24 Visual Audiobook of Supernatural Encounters!!

The final version is here! This is a visual-audial recreation of Chapter 20 of my book: Star Wars: Supernatural Encounters! It has been created akin to the immersive adaptations done for H.P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Lord Dunsany, and Robert E. Howard by AGM Storytime. It is a wild treat for the senses that I'd never thought I'd see in my lifetime and an incredible way to experience this tale... 7/29/24 Splendid Ap and the Timeline He Messes With

Skyriver Chronicles' new essay on the next section of Supernatural Encounters is out https://skyriverchronicles.wordpress.com/2024/07/29/splendid-ap-and-the-timeline-he-messes-with/. I love this exploration of Splendid Ap and the "timey wimey, wibbly wobbly concepts" in this section, which was a challenge to convey in the right way. I won't go into the nuts and bolts of it, save to say that while some things can be made comprehensible, even though they have great complexity to them, other things cannot, even though they're quite simple.

There's a wonderful quote from the show Caprica that informs my approach to this: "Secrets have answers. Now, mysteries, they don't have answers. That's why I love them. They're full of endless possibilities and permutations like God himself. But if you solve a mystery, what are you left with? A secret."

So I'm quite thrilled to see that Skyriver and others are navigating the secrets and mysteries of Skyriver quite beautifully.

7/20/24 Admin Shenanigans

Hey all, I just wanted to update you on some Wookiepedia unpleasantness.

A few weeks ago, an SE fan introduced a comprehensive rewrite of the SE article on Wookieepedia. It remained up for about a day before being reverted by an administrator. Following proper procedure, he brought the matter to the talk page for discussion.

The administrator highlighted two specific sentences he found problematic. It was suggested we revert the article and exclude those two sentences. Another administrator disagreed, however, and offered no compromise. Other SE fans came in, and a majority decision was reached.

The rewritten article was reintroduced due to the consensus reached. But the article was subsequently reverted again, and when an SE fan reverted it back, the administration team locked the article and reverted it to the old version.

New Lost Tale!

John Morton, the actor who played Dak Ralter in The Empire Strikes Back has released to me the complete version of "Escape from Kalist," initially published in a truncated version in Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back (West End Games, 1989). This is, of course, being made available at cost and will remain up for an unknown period of time. If you feel so inclined, please let the larger EU community know about it (on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, or other servers).

There will be a Lulu.com release in the Spring, which will be a hardcover set of these three volumes, with the illustrations in Vol 3 being in color. My hope is to make these available for easy purchase on that site, but I'll know more about that as we get closer to the Spring.

As to the single-volume hardcover and softcover editions, I hope to have some available at LegendsCon in 2025 (stay tuned for the dates and venue which should drop any day). These will have the *new* LegendsCon logos on them and will feature 2nd edition text to distinguish them from the 2023 editions.
