A
HUNTER'S FATE:
GREEDO'S TALE

Written by Tom & Martha Veitch
Adapted
and Illustrated by Pablo Hidalgo
In 1995, Bantam-Spectra
released the Star Wars anthology Tales from the Mos Eisley
Cantina, in which Tom and Martha Veitch wrote a short story
about Greedo's backstory called "A Hunter's Fate: Greedo's Tale."
Near upon a decade later, with the advent of the official Star Wars
fan club site Hyperspace, Pablo Hidalgo adapted the Rodian's story
into a webstrip. Both the original short story and its adaptation
were well-received by fans, with the latter running from 10/4/04 to
3/18/05.
In 1999, Lucas included a
scene of Anakin fighting with a Rodian he considered to be the
Greedo from A New Hope. This portrayal was carried forward
into the Clone Wars third season, fourth episode "Sphere of
Influence." These appearances of Greedo were later retconned as
being Greedo the Elder, the father of the Greedo we see in A New
Hope, and whose back-story is told here.
For the ease of those following the
order of events on the
Star Wars Expanded Universe Timeline, the following are
delineated by section.
